Eight years ago, Jose purchased his current property and started preparing a coffee nursery. That same year, he left his job to dedicate himself fully to the farm, which he now depend on entirely.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInitially, Jose produced conventional coffee, but it was not profitable due to low market prices. He struggled financially and even considered selling the farm. However, a friend and neighbor introduced him to specialty coffee and its potential for better sales. With the support and knowledge from the San Vicente mill, Jose began producing his first micro-lot of specialty coffee three years ago. Since then, his situation has improved significantly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is our Fourth year purchasing coffee from Jose Santos Gonzales. Jose lives on a beautiful plot of land on the Santa Barbara mountain which has boasted countless placings in Honduras' Cup of Excellence competitions.
